Rachel moved to Kalamazoo in the middle of a global pandemic. After being isolated for months, she and her cat, Maisy, are ready for love and companionship. She downloads hinge and starts swiping. Brysen, living just down the street, see's Rachel's profile and shoots his shot. He incorrectly guesses wrong on her two truths and a lie prompt and a connection forms. After a month of texts, phone calls and face times, Rachel and Brysen finally meet and it's love at first sight. He brings breakfast to her apartment after her long journey home from visiting her family in Pittsburgh. He leaves for work but comes back later that day to hang out. Then he comes back a third time to drop off flowers and hot dogs because Rachel had mentioned she was upset that she bought buns but forgot the hot dogs. Rachel is smitten. Within days, they are officially dating and within a week, Rachel says I love you. Maisy took a little longer to warm up but grew to love him too. After a year of dating, Brysen and Rachel moved to Minneapolis, and then, another year later, they finally settled in Chicago, a place they had talked about moving together to a month into dating. 


Rachel's parents had recently moved to Colorado and they decided to plan a trip to visit them and catch Noah Kahan at Red Rocks. Little did Rachel know, Brysen had a few surprises up his sleeve. Rachel's mom Sarah had suggested they get a little dressed up and go to a winery nearby. On the way, Rachel's dad Phil suggested they drive through the local start park on the way because there had been a lot of sightings of black bears recently. Rachel was a little suspicious at the time but genuinely was hoping to see bears and was excited. At the park, they head to a lookout and Brysen asks for a photo. He got down on one knee and before he could even ask, Rachel said yes! He had secretly planned this entire proposal and even flew out her best friend Carly. (but sadly forgot to plan for there being actual black bears to see). 


They now own a condo, are working two jobs they love, and have recently adopted a second cat, Franklin. The wedding is coming up and soon they will live happily ever after.
